Meet Our Team

All our staff are here to ensure that your child is getting the best possible care and that your needs as parents are being addressed. With this in mind we aim to build a positive parent/partner relationship.  Nikki Walford – Nursery Manager takes a full and active role in the nursery and is fully qualified in Childcare and Customer Care Management. We have several staff that teach at Degree level. We also regularly offer short and long-term placements for students on work experience or take on apprentices.

We recognise that our staff are the most valued asset of our business and are at the forefront of it. We take pride in the people we employ both for their experience and dedication to young children. We recognise the important role they play in the children’s lives and we try to ensure they stay with us long term. On-going professional development is met by in-house training or by gaining additional NVQ’s arranged by ETS (Educational, Training and Skills).  Additionally, we up-skill our practitioners using external trainers for areas such as first-aid, safeguarding and special needs children.

In 2012 Nikki won ‘Employer of the Year’ in recognition for supporting lifelong learning within the workplace from the federation of Small Businesses in Cornwall.

    Cathy Trapmore

    Deputy Manager

    Cathy Trapmore is our Deputy Manager. She originally worked as a bank staff member and has been with us since 2019. She is very capable, committed and demonstrates strong leadership and leads by example. She would be more than capable operating as the OfSTED Nominated Person if required and managing the nursery.
    Cathy is a full-time member of staff and work 40 hours a week.
    Cathy is currently pregnant and will be going on maternity leave in November but is planning to return.
    Qualifications: BA Hons Early Childhood Studies, Early Years Teacher Status and PGCE Primary QTS.

    Megan Mitchell

    3rd-in-charge

    Megan Mitchell is our 3rd in charge and baby room supervisor. She has been with us since September 2019. She has proven herself to be a very supportive and committed staff member. She has a great attitude and deals with staff and parents with great professionalism.
    Megan is a full-time member of staff and works 40 hours a week.
    Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner.

    Katie Jones

    Pre-school Room Supervisor

    Katie Jones is our Pre-school room supervisor. She has been with us since September 2021.
    She is currently on maternity leave and will be coming back in January. She is a very capable and shows strong leadership in her room. She is happy to help train and support other staff members
    When Katie returns, she will be working 19.5 a week but will no longer be the Pre-school supervisor.
    Qualification: PGCE in Early Years Education.

    Rebecca Bennett

    Pre-school Room Supervisor

    Rebecca Bennett is our Preschool room Supervisor. She has been with us since March 2022. Rebecca is extremely patient, kind and caring provides a good balance of child led and adult led activities.
    Rebecca works 25.5 hours a week.
    Qualifications: Bachelor of Education: Primary Education QTS.

    Jasmine Whittaker

    Toddler Room Supervisor

    Jasmine Whittaker is our Toddler room Supervisor. She has been with us since December 2022. Jasmine is extremely creative and loves to set up activities for the children using a tuff tray. She is a kind and caring member of staff.
    Jasmine works 40 hours a week.
    Qualifications: Level 3 in Children’s Care and Learning Development. BA Hons Early Childhood Studies.

    Katie Allen

    Toddler Room

    Katie Allen works in our Toddler room. She has been with us since November 2018. Katie is a helpful member of the team and is well-liked by the whole team and children.
    Katie works 25 hours a week.
    Qualifications: Level 3 Childcare and Education

    Toddler Room

    Ellie Black-Borrow works in our Toddler room. She has been with us since July 2023. Ellie is hard working and reliable. She is happy to cover in the Beanie room and has a kind and caring nature.
    Ellie works 40 hours a week.
    Qualifications: BA Hons in Learning and Education.

    Zoe Carey

    Toddler Room

    Zoe Carey works in our Toddler room. She has been with us since July 2023. Zoe has a good rapport with the children and their parents. She is good at thinking on the spot and loves to set up small world activities for the children to enjoy. She always enjoys working in the Pre-school room. Zoe is interested in doing her Level 3 qualification.
    Zoe works 38 hours a week
    Qualifications: Level 2 in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce.

    Rhianna Cumming

    Baby Room

    Rhianna Cumming works in our baby room. She joined us in August 2016. She enjoys building up those all-important attachments with the babies and ensures they settle well before starting with us.
    Rhianna works 25 hours a week.
    Qualification: Level 2 Children & Young People’s Workforce.

    Chloe Keat

    Baby Room

    Chloe Keat works in our baby room. She joined us in March 2023 as an apprentice. She is now fully qualified. Chloe mainly works in the Beanie room but has worked in all of the rooms whilst studying. Chloe is fun and lobes singing and reading with the children.
    Chloe works 40 hours a week.
    Qualification: Level 2 Early Years Practitioner

    Lisa Tilley

    Baby Room

    Lisa Tilley works in our baby room. She joined us in August 2022. Lisa is extremely patient and has a calming attitude. She enjoys singing with the babies and will provide activities to help the babies reach their milestones.
    Lisa works 18 hours a week.
    Qualification: Level 2 Early Years Practitioner

    Rowen Weller

    Apprentice

    Rowen Weller started in September 2023. She is doing her apprenticeship to gain her Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification. Rowen is due to complete her course in March 2025. Rowen is a quiet member of staff and is working hard on building her confidence. She spends a term in each room to gain experience. Rowen enjoys being outside with the children.
    Rowen works 37 hours a week, this includes 7 hours at college.

    Keira Thompson

    Apprentice

    Keira Thompson has been with us since June 2024 and started in apprenticeship in September 2024. Her qualification will be Level 3 Early Years Educator. Keira is spending time in the Toddler room this term. For someone with no experience working with children she has quickly found ger feet and is constantly gaining in confidence.
    Keira works 37 hours a week, this includes 7 hours at college.

    Sarah Field

    Pre-school Room

    Sarah Field works in our preschool room. She has been with us since September 2024. Sarah is pregnant and is due to go on maternity leave in March 2025. Sarah enjoys reading to the children, doing artwork and being outside with the children.
    Sarah works 40 hours a week.
    Qualification: Level 3 Early Years Educator

    Erin Davey works in our toddler room. She has been with us since September 2024. She is fun, creative and loves getting creative with the children.
    Erin works 25 hours a week.

    Cook

    Mark Bunyan is our cook. He has been with us since August 2024 from Rick Steins. He works 25 hours a week.
